A breach of the Twitch live-streaming platform has been officially confirmed, though the extent of the breach is still being researched. Meanwhile, there are a variety of claimed leaks said to have been shared as a result of Twitch being hacked. Those include payments issued to top Twitch streamers, as well as account information for Twitch users. One particularly interesting leak revealed the existence of an Amazon alternative PC storefront to Steam going by the name of Vapor.

The details about Vapor come from a torrent containing 125GB of data said to have been taken from the Twitch platform. Within this data are files containing code for an unannounced Amazon game named Vapeworld, as odd as that may be. Vapeworld is believed to be a virtual reality chat game. While that in itself is interesting, it's Vapeworld's associated files and containing folders that contain what little information about Vapor that are included in the link.

This leak was pretty unfortunate. Not only they've 'revealed' about Vapor, but they also leaked all the salaries of the top streamers in Twitch worldwide.

As per the platform: being an Amazon work always gives us 'hope' to have a real competitor for steam. This would be positive for the customers wallets. Let's see when we hear news about this, and I honestly don't think we'll have to wait much for that - probably in 2022 Amazon will give some news (if the leak is true)

If it’s to be run anything close to what twitch is it will fail pretty spectacularly, I feel like most PC players are loyal to steam at this point as well. Personally steam is always doing stuff that is more or less good for the customer and I already have so many games on steam I’m not even batting an eye at any competition in the marketplace arena
